It is terrific to read pleasant posts from opposing supporters as per the Eastliegh post in the site today and others I've read, and that in itself says a lot for Non League Football. We all dream of our club being successfull and achieving promotion to the promised land of League Football, and for those among us who remember the days when we played Norwich, Crystal Palace, Watford and Nottingham Forest in a normal season it seeems a long way off. Its when you read the aforementioned posts that you realise that we are the lucky ones really, when you can go to a match and enjoy a decent game and meet nice people and not hear and see some of the animal behaviour seen and heard in the so called top tier of the game, never mind the antics of the so called stars of today.
Give me Newport County any time before Man U, Chelsea or Arsenal, furthermore hopefully our players have more allegiance to the club than that of the foriegn so called stars of the Premiership. COME ON THE COUNTY!!!!

Robet you might be accused of being somewhat biased in your pronouncement against foreign players. We must remember that its thanks to the likes of Cantona and many others that have been imported to our game that the skill standarrds have gone up.

But I must agree with you in all heart that the sight of fellow supporters and the relative untroubled off the park problems are not part of the newport scene... yet!!

I would love to see the county back in the top level of football, but the years will overtake me and I dont think that I will be here to see many more seasons of countys playing.

I shall, however, go on as long as I can to give my support to this team who have made an old man so very happy.

But in the mean time I intend to enjoy every minute of the enormous pleasure that watching the games gives me.
Bryan.

Thank you Bryan, I accept your point about the foriegn players who have improved our game with their undoubted skills, our own Takumi Ake is one player who in his brief appearance in the amber shirt gave us a glimse of what we can look forward to enjoying soon, I hope,----my point about the foriegn imports is that the obscene wages etc are doing nothing to enhance the bond between clubs, players or fans, in fact I dont think the players in the top divisions show much loyalty to anyone, and come to that I dont think that having a team consisting of nine or ten foriegn players like Chelsea have, has really added to our game. I think that there should be a limit to the number of import players in a side in any match.
